Paper Sculpture - Tree by luukie Paper Sculpture - Tree by luukie
It's a tree made out of paper made out of trees! :iconminilarryplz:

My final project for the MICA summer class, Drawing Out(side) of the box. We explored 3D drawing one day and I really enjoyed my initial experiments so I decided to pursue it further. Eight hours later, I had this tree.

The bird is movable via a little tab on the back; he'll sit on any of the branches, though the leaves are too thin for him to sit properly.

I have no idea where to put it, though. Why can't it be flat like the rest of my artworks? :noes:

Woah. Nice. You should make an epic landscape with that.

I should, but with the tree taking 8+ hours, I don't think I have the attention span. :U

Well, at least if you did it, it would be very satisfying in the end. And it'd be something to display in your room.

Or in my art portfolio. I was supposed to do a 2D drawing behind it, but I didn't have enough time.

I love this! I like the pattern on the trunk, did you draw it or was it already on the paper?

I drew it with an orange sharpie, a red sharpie, a brown sharpie, and a black washable marker (I couldn't find a thin enough sharpie from the materials that were available at the time.) It was probably what took up the most time. :'D

But thank you! <3

That is the most adorable little paper birdie! xD Love the tree too! Very cute! 83 Make sure the cats don't use it as a scratching post...

Pretty good, too. I've been starting to explore art more, which is really fun. I also had my very first art class about a year ago.
